Amy at Martin Reviews

Amy can be a good school, depending on the child attending. My daughter entered as an A student and her last year left as a D student. She became friendly with the wrong crowed and went down hill from there. Dennis, the counselor, is amazingly in tune with the kids and is an asset to this school. However, Amy is no different than a regular public school, you still have the bad kids attending and doing drugs, cutting, and fighting. Most of her teachers called home to inform me of her progress and offer suggestions on her new behavior. If your child is not a leader this is not the school for him or her. The Sacks family

I'm going to miss this school, never have i encountered such a caring environment towards students, and respect from students to teachers. So yes I hope to find another caring environment for my daughter. Thank you all at Amy for every thing you've done for us.

I went to this school when I was a kid well I guess I still am a kid but I went in from my neighborhood school from witch I didn t learn allot. I was bad at everything important math, righting and history but the teachers helped me to improve my ability and when I left AMY I from an F student at an A- student. I don t know just how to thank this school and its dedicated teachers but maybe graduating collage will help to prove what this school did for me. Also through this school I have maybe friends that are going to be with me all my life.

My daughter attended AMY for 3 years. She went into that school an A student and left there barely passing. I was told when she was in 5th grade that it was an 'accelerated' 'magnet' school that you had to test in just to attend. After just 1 year there, I could see the effect the other students were having on her. This middle school was no different than other Philadelphia Public Middle schools. It still encountered the same problems that we were trying to protect her from. Many of the teachers seemed to have trouble just keeping order in the classroom, so teaching became secondary. I was very unhappy that we decided to send her there. We are done with Philadephia Public Schools and are putting our children's education in the hands of the Parochial School System in Philadelphia.

I think this is a great school that helps kids get excited about learning. The teachers are great, and always willing to help the students. The school councilor is the best of any school my children have ever been in.
