Wagner Gen Louis Middle School Reviews

I graduated from Wagner in 2007. My three years at Wagner were not good. The kids run wild while the teachers sit around and do nothing

I love Wagner cause I just graduated frm there june 15, 2007

I haven't had a good experience with Wagner, discipline is a big issue. The Dean is constantly suspending the children for nonsense. Which results in the children missing day's from school. Education is very important & this should be the last alternative. What ever happened to detention's? Wagner is a middle school, you have teenagers dealing with peer pressure, hormone changes, etc. I believe the staff at Wagner needs to attend training sessions that allows them to deal with teenagers in a positive way. You have to have a passion for working with children & I don't feel passion at Wagner.

I've relocated from Absecon, NJ to Philadelphia, and my kids are in the 8th grade and the special needs program. I have mixed feelings about the schoolin that, just picking my kids up I get just a small sampling of what the teachers face for 7 hours a day. My concern is that there is such an emphasis on discipline, attendance, that education seems to be last on the list of priorities. Initially I was upset with what my daughter was bringing home, but after talking to the teacher, and observing myself, I have to admit that the school has an uphill batttle, at best. That said, I still have the problem of a child who I want to achieve to her potential, and I'm just not convinced that that can happen in this environment. I say that realizing that I have the choice, but how many of the other parents dont?

There is a lack of communications between teachers and the parents. You don't get cooperation from the Principal. The district office do not want to help you about the problem and the administration building don't want to help either. This school suspends children on how they wear their clothes and how their hair looks. I think somebody from the higher ups need to keep an eye on them.
