Shawmont School Reviews

Shawmont is a school that has maintained a strong academic environment for many years. I feel that this will soon change with many established veteran teachers soon to retire. Additionally, the principle lacks focus for the future. All in all, a great public school, however, watch your child closely in his/her 7th and 8th grade years as the teachers are uninvolved.

I would have to say that Shawmont is a great school. Its teachers are wonderful. I have 2 children attending this school and they are very happy, and are doing very well grade wise. My children entered into this school from a private school 3yrs ago and I feel they have learned more at Shawmont then they did at the private school. So this goes to show that paying a few thousand a year doesn't mean it's better. Overall I am very pleased with the school and its teachers.I must not leave out my gripes...I feel that the Principal needs to keep on top of things. There where many times when things have happened to my kids at school and I was not aware of it until they came home hours later.Including injuries. Poor communication, lack of information, and his people skills also need to be improved. But he has a tuff job

Shawmont is the best school for any child they make learning fun and easy it is the best school

The school has been a big disapointment. The principal lacks leadership, humbleness, loyalty, and kindness. Shawmont used to be a great school but, over the years has seemed to lessen their stsndards. They need a new curriculum that isn't just review from previous years.

Shawmonts academics standards are superb. However, there is a greater need for the principal and the school to make more of an effort to make the outer district children and their families feel welcome and apart of Shawmont. I believe that the needs of the outer district children are seriously neglected. I also feel that the principal lacks compassion and humanity.
